Guest & Associate Safety Standards

As always, the safety of our guests, members, and associates is our highest priority and we want you to feel confident when visiting our properties. Please know that in light of the COVID-19 situation, we have chosen to enhance our cleaning procedures and staff training, exceeding the preventative measures outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and guidelines of the state of Wisconsin.  Please note that our safety policies are evolving based on recommendations by state and local officials.  Please check back to this page on a regular basis for the latest information.

COVID-19 Warning

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is extremely contagious  and can lead to severe illness and death. According to the CDC, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting any Recreation facility, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. 

What precautions does Geneva National Resort & Club take?

From our golf operations and housekeeping procedures to our food & beverage safety protocols, we have modified our operations to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Masks are now optional for our guests and our staff, 

Golf Safety Precautions & Policies

​For your safety, Geneva National will make some temporary modifications to golf service, as follows:

  • ​Golf carts are available for use on all three of our golf courses.

  • To avoid on-course touch points, there will be no water coolers.

  • Naturally, if you are feeling at all under the weather or have traveled recently, please wait the requested 14 days before hitting the course. Also, if you are in a high-risk category, we ask that you please take extra precautions.

Guest Room Cleaning Procedures

  • Our Housekeeping team has been trained on proper cleaning procedures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

  • Windows are opened to increase air circulation during the cleaning process.

  • All hard surfaces are first cleaned then disinfected. Touch points — including remotes, clocks, thermostats, coffeemakers and ice buckets — are cleaned and sanitized.

  • Soft surfaces, such as furniture and carpeting, are cleaned with soap and water, if needed, then disinfected with an EPA-registered disinfectant.

  • Towels, linens and bedding are cleaned and bleached at our in-house commercial laundry facility at water temperatures of 140 F and drying temperatures of 160-180 F.

  • Glassware in rooms has been substituted with disposable cups.

  • Our Housekeeping managers oversee each room cleaning to ensure that hygiene standards are maintained.

  • Housekeeping services are not performed when rooms are occupied. Please call the Front Desk for extra towels or other supplies.

  • In public areas, we frequently disinfect lobbies, elevators, door handles and bathrooms with a hospital-grade disinfectant and anti-viral sanitizing carpet cleaner.

  • Our Maintenance team regularly disinfects all PTAC units both in guest rooms and atop buildings.

  • Hand-sanitizer stations have been installed throughout the resort.

 

Food & Beverage Operations

  • Our dining facilities are adhering to guidelines set out by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association/ServSafe and state of Wisconsin.

  • Food contact surfaces are sanitized after each use and high-contact areas such as doorknobs, buttons, and cooler doors are sanitized frequently.

  • Each facility is led by a a certified food safety manager with ServSafe training and an up-to-date food handler’s license.

What precautions should I take?

Please follow the CDC wellness measures, which emphasize frequent hand-washing for a minimum of 20 seconds, using a hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol, and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Additionally, avoid close contact with people who are sick. 

 

What if I want to cancel my trip?

While our standard cancellation policy is 7 days prior to your arrival, we are evaluating each situation and working with our clients to present options for all parties involved. We continue to be flexible with our clients affected by the current state of travel disruption and will work alongside our customers to ensure that safety for all our guests is the number-one priority.  We encourage our guests to check with us at 262.245.7000 or reservations@gnresort.com as often as they desire regarding timelines and calendar adjustments.  We are available for our guests and appreciate your patronage of Destination Geneva National.
