Tap into the Brews & Blues Festival
Americans’ thirst for craft beer has yet to be quenched, with more beer styles and brands to choose from in the U.S. than any other market in the world. Whether you’re attuned to the nuances of specialty brews or are just sipping your first craft suds, the sixth annual Craft Brews & Chicago Blues Festival at Geneva National Resort is the place to be Saturday, April 22.
More than 30 craft breweries from throughout the nation will be on hand with 100-plus beers to sample. Representatives from breweries such as Chicago’s Half Acre Beer Company; Alaskan Brewing Company; Boulder Beer, Colorado’s first craft brewery; California’s Stone Brewing; Cleveland’s Great Lakes Brewing Company; and many more will be pouring samples, sharing the stories behind their brews, and explaining what makes each beer unique.
The festival’s new location in the expansive Clubhouse at Geneva National Resort will provide all attendees with a wall of windows overlooking the resort’s famed Palmer Golf Course fairways and views of Lake Como beyond.
Concessions, a cash bar, and entertainment by local favorite the Big Al Wetzel Band will be ongoing all afternoon, and a silent auction to benefit Lakeland Animal Shelter also is planned.
In addition to general admission, the Festival offers a limited number of VIP tickets that grants exclusive access to beers from six additional breweries including Avery, Central Waters, Founders and The Bruery. A private lounge with bar, fireplace and patio will accommodate this select VIP group, who also will enjoy early entry to the festival, a commemorative tasting glass and food samples from The Ridge Hotel’s new Crafted Americana restaurant.
Tickets are available at brewsandbluesfestival.com. General admission tickets are $45, VIP tickets are $80 and designated driver tickets are $15.
The Brews & Blues website also includes information about overnight accommodations at Geneva National Resort and The Ridge Hotel if you’d like to make a weekend of it in beautiful Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Special room rates are available; just make sure to mention the Brews & Blues Festival when making your reservations.
