Plans to further Expand Midwest’s Premier Golf & Residential Community with Resort-Style Living
Destination Geneva National continues to make waves in the Midwest as the region’s premier golf and residential community takes yet another bold step forward. As of March 15, 2024, Destination Geneva National Resort and Club has acquired more than 200 acres of undeveloped and shovel-ready land within the Geneva National community—marking a new era of expansion and opportunity.
This milestone acquisition from Forward Geneva National, under the leadership of local real estate visionary Mike Keefe of Keefe Realty (now Compass), sets the stage for an exciting new chapter. “We’ve been honored to support Geneva National’s success over the years,” Keefe said. “There’s no one better suited to guide its future than Garth Chambers II and the Club & Resort’s current ownership.”
For over five years, Geneva National has been steadily raising the bar—not just in golf and hospitality, but in creating a lifestyle destination that blends natural beauty, elite amenities, and community spirit. With 54 championship holes designed by legends Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and Lee Trevino, the community is now poised to enhance its status as the Midwest’s only master-planned, gated golf community of its caliber.
This growth comes at a pivotal time. Lake Geneva has become more than a weekend retreat for Chicagoans; it’s increasingly a home base for families, remote professionals, and retirees seeking safety, space, and an amenity-rich lifestyle. Geneva National answers that call with a resort-style pool, walking trails, tennis, pickleball, and expanding commercial offerings—all within a secure, scenic environment.
“People have reshuffled their priorities post-pandemic,” says Garth Chambers II, Owner & President of Destination Geneva National. “We’re seeing strong demand from families and working professionals alike who want access to nature, recreation, and a tight-knit community—all while staying connected to job corridors.”
With more than 1,100 residents and capacity for nearly 750 more, Geneva National’s future is bright. “It’s remarkable to think we’re only two-thirds developed,” Chambers notes. “Our family has been devoted to Geneva National since 1996, and we’re proud to now steward the remaining land that will shape the next three decades of this community.”
The groundwork is in place, both figuratively and literally. According to longtime community Executive Director Rick Pozdol, “Geneva National is construction-ready and more in demand than ever before.” With approved development rights and an eager pool of regional builders, the next phase of residential expansion is set to unfold at an accelerated pace.
From its elevated lifestyle offerings to its deep-rooted commitment to community, Geneva National isn’t just building homes—it’s building the future of Midwest resort living.
